Safe Haven Monthly Update
In these volatile times, our Safe Haven stocks provide some comfort. The purpose of this fund is to SWAN (Sleep Well At Night). We are simply looking for indestructible companies, which should almost guarantee their existence for decades to come. That does not mean the share price won't fall, but in the long run, these companies should be just fine. These are the kind of stocks which you don't even need to look at the share price, you can simply set a debit order and allocate to them on a periodic basis.
Apple, The Procter & Gamble Company, Altria Group, Ferrari and Texas Instruments have all reported earnings and there were no real surprises as expected with the Safe Haven portfolio. Most companies are experiencing headwinds and seeing varying forms of slowdowns. This is where great management comes to the forefront. We would like to highlight Texas Instruments, the company had beats across the board and even upgraded their guidance for the third quarter. It is also one of the few companies that understand the mechanism of share buybacks and management is executing flawlessly.
