Unlike Miles or Vitality, there's no joining fee and no monthly subscription fees for eBucks. Your eBucks never expire, so you can save up for as long as needed to buy something/do special.

Earning eBucks is really easy

You earn eBucks automatically whenever you use your qualifying FNB or RMB Private Bank account to pay for goods. Plus, when you use your bank card at an eBucks partner, you can earn even more eBucks!

• eBucks Rewards members can earn up to R8/litre back in eBucks at Engen per quarter
• Up to 15% back in eBucks when buying groceries at Checkers and Shoprite and
• Up to 15% back in eBucks on health and beauty essentials at Clicks

Your eBucks are automatically allocated to your eBucks account every month no fuss, no admin.

The very simple requirements to start earning eBucks

• Your account must be active - which means you transact - and in good standing, which means it's not overdrawn, in arrears, in default, and you are not undergoing sequestration or any legal process.
• Log in to the FNB App at least once a month, using your own banking profile
• You must have monthly deposits into your account. Most accounts dont require deposits. Only the Easy Account and the Aspire Gold Account. Limits are as low as R1000 per month.

eBucks consists of 2 steps

1. Get to the highest Reward Level
2. Earn eBucks

Some people get very confused with the 2 steps, but it is simple. You first need to do certain tasks to get to the highest level possible. FNB rewards you for responsible financial behaviours. That is how you get up the levels.

Once you have moved up the ranks by being good, you then start earning eBucks.

Tips on how to move up Reward Levels

The amount of eBucks you earn is directly linked to your Reward level. Here are some tips and tricks on how to move up the levels. The list is in no way exhaustive. 1. The golden rule with eBucks. NEVER DRAW CASH. Dont do it unless you are in dire need and then if u must, DON'T use an ATM. The bank will punish you. Swipe your card for everything. ATMs cost banks billions in insurance. They love when we use the supermarkets.
2. Do at least 10 debit transactions per month (money out, not inter-account transfers)
3. Do at least 10 financial transactions per month via the FNB App
4. View the Track my rewards tab on the FNB App every month
5. Spend at least R400 on your FNB Connect SIM card every month
6. Do at least 4 FNB Pay transactions (Tap to Pay, Scan to Pay or Checkout)
7. Have an FNB Credit Card and authorise a monthly auto payment
8. Use only your Virtual Card on two or more streaming or online platform(s). Qualifying platforms are Deezer, iTunes, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Showmax, SweepSouth, Audible, Mr D Food, Uber OR Uber Eats, PlayStation, Xbox, Google, Bolt, Checkers Sixty60
9. Make a single payment of at least R3 500 into an FNB Fund/Ashburton Fund every month
10. Monthly contribution of at least R3k or an annual contribution of at least R36k into an FNB TFSA
11. Have an FNB Home Loan with a minimum utilisation of at least 30%
12. Manage your property or use one of the available services under the nav Home tab on the FNB App once a quarter
13. Have your Will drafted and signed with FNB as your executor and keep your signed Will in FNBs custody
14. Have an active linked FNBy transactional account if you have a minor child
15. Have an FNB Funeral Plan
16. Have an FNB Global Account with the required minimum monthly balance

How to earn eBucks

Now that you have worked hard to get to level 4 or 5, you need to start SPENDING to EARN eBucks.

I have attached the most common FNB Accounts rates to this article, the Premier Account. Please note that:

• If you have an Easy or Aspire Gold account, your rates will be slightly lower.
• If you have a Private Clients or Private Wealth account, your rates will be slightly higher.

The most common way to earn is through normal shopping with your FNB Credit Card and using your card for online payments. Therefore, I advise that you transfer your spending money for the month into your credit card and swipe swipe swipe. Remember not to go over budget and pay the card in full monthly.

eBucks people shop at Clicks and Checkers, not DisChem or PnP. 15% back on toiletries, vitamins and food really add up.

Always pay your Netflix and Spotify with your FNB Card and you get up to 40% back in eBucks, depending on the type of account you have.

eBucks people only fill up at Engen. We dont acknowledge other garages. We get up to R4 back per liter just for swiping our cards on Level 5. This is a massive part of my personal eBucks rewards. 

To double your benefit to R8 per liter benefit, you need to have all three of the below:

1. Have an active Vehicle Finance Agreement with WesBank, Toyota Financial Services and/or Volkswagen Financial Services (and their affiliates)
2. Have your financed vehicle loaded on navCar, accept the navCar terms of use and view your loaded vehicle in My Garage
3. Have 100% of your fuel spend at Engen fuel stations

Where to spend your eBucks

I treat my eBucks like I treat cash, with lots of respect and like gold.

The best place to spend your eBucks is with eBucks Partners. You can either spend it in-store or you can spend it online. You can also buy vouchers for yourself and keep them for three years. I collect Checkers vouchers during the year and then spend it in January.
