South Africa

Raubex Group Limited- Results for the six months ended 31 August 2022

  • Revenue grew by 23.2% to R7.38 billion.
  • Operating profit increased by 26.4% to R550.3 million.
  • EPS grew by 15.1% to 161.8 cents per share.
  • Cash generated from operations increased by 145.7% to R589.3 million.
  • The board has declared a gross interim cash dividend of 53 cents per share, which will be paid on Monday, 5 December 2022.

Redefine Properties Limited- Results for the year ended 31 August 2022

  • Revenue grew by 15.2% to R8 244 million.
  • Basic EPS grew by 181.4% to 141.47 cents per share.
  • SA REIT NAV per share increased by 4.6% to 720.08 cents.
  • The Board has declared a gross cash dividend of 19.3 cents per share, which will be paid on Monday, 28 November 2022.

Invicta Holdings Limited- Trading statement for the six-month period ended 30 September 2022

  • In the prior comparative period, Invictas earnings reflected on disposals of businesses/investments, therefore the company expects an EPS of between 300 cents and 244 cents per share which is a decrease of between 47% and 57%.

Apple

  • Apple is expecting lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments.
  • Apple is working closely with its suppliers to return shipments to normal.

Meta

  • Meta is expected to start large-scale layoffs this week.

Twitter

  • Last week Twitter fired around 50% of its workforce.
  • This week the company is reaching out to many employees who lost their jobs asking them to return.
  • Twitter has begun rolling out Twitter blue in some parts of the U.S for $7.99.

Berkshire Hathaway earnings

  • Operating Earnings of $7.76B up 19.9% YoY.
  • Revenue of $76.9B up 8.9% YoY.
  • Despite the pullback in markets during 2022 Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway are still sitting on $163.9 Billion of unrealized gains from their stock holdings.
  • Apple currently represents 36.1% of the entire equity portfolio.

Palantir earnings

  • EPS of $0.01 missing expectations of $0.02.
  • Revenue of $477.9M beating expectations of $474.5M.
