Naspers & Prosus N.V.- Disposal of JD.com shares

  • The companies implemented orderly disposal of the JD.com shares on the open market at a total value of US$3.67bn each.
  • The company received the shares from Tencent Holdings as a result of the special interim dividend declared in December last year.
  • JD.com does not form part of the companys core strategic focus.

Naspers & Prosus- Share buyback programme

  • Naspers and Prosus announced a long-term share repurchase programme of Naspers and Prosus shares.
  • The programme is designed to increase net asset value per share, as both Naspers and Prosus are trading at discounts to their underlying net asset value.
  • The programme will run as long as elevated levels of the trading discount to the Groups underlying net asset value persist.
  • The program will be funded by a sale of Tencent shares held by the group. Tencent is supportive of the withdrawal.

Prosus N.V.- Annual results announcement for the year ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue grew from US$5 116 million to US$6 866 million.
  • Operating loss improved from -US$1 040 million to -US$859 million.
  • EPS grew from 459 US cents to 1 243 US cents.
  • HEPS decreased from 360 US cents to 204 US cents.
  • Core HEPS decreased from 299 US cents to 247 US cents.

Naspers Limited- Annual results announcement for the year ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue grew from US$5 934 million to US$7 940.
  • Operating loss improved from -US$1 189 million to -US$894 million.
  • EPS grew from 1 243 US cents to 4 218 US cents.
  • HEPS decreased from 970 US cents to 559 US cents.
  • Core HEPS decreased from 814 US cents to 718 US cents.

PPC Limited- Consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue grew from R8.9 billion to R9.9 billion.
  • Group EBITDA decreased from R1.6 billion to R1.5 billion.
  • EPS loss per share of -5 cents compared to an EPS of 65 cents in 2021.
  • HEPS loss per share of -3 cents compared to 3 cents in 2021.
  • PPC was able to reduce net debt by R1,2 billion.

British American Tobacco- Transaction in own shares

  • As part of its buyback program, British American Tobacco repurchased 523,000 shares and intends on holding the shares in treasury.
  • The business has entered into an agreement with its broker to purchase shares during the closed period commencing on 26 June 2022 and ending 26 July 2022, the day prior to the release of its half year results.

Invicta Holdings Limited- Audited annual consolidated results for the year ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue grew 15% to R7 188 991 000.
  • Profit for the period grew 141% to R906 146 000.
  • Basic EPS grew 168.1% to 764 cents.
  • HEPS grew 4.4% to 330 cents.
  • Net asset value per ordinary share grew 5.6% to 3 765 cents.
  • The board declared a dividend of 90 cents per share to be paid on Monday, 8 August 2022.

  • Formula 1 has renewed its US media deal with Disneys ESPN for between $75M-$90M.

Meta

  • Facebook and Instagram wont be taking a cut from creators revenues until 2024.

  • Top Gun: Maverick is now the 15th highest-grossing film in US box office history.
