Mr Price Group Limited- Trading statement

  • The company expects an EPS of between 1269.2 cents and 1320.4 cents, representing an increase of between 24% and 29%.

Life Healthcare Group Holdings Limited- Interim results for the six months ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue from continuing operations increased 4.2% to R13.5 billion.
  • Improved performance in SA with PPDs up 2.1% and theatre minutes up 11.3%.
  • Strong underlying growth in AMG with PET-CT and MRI scan volumes up 13.7% and 11.7% respectively.
  • Strong financial position with net debt to normalised EBITDA of 2.03 times.
  • EPS decreased 25.8% to 41.5 cents.
  • HEPS decreased 12.7% to 41.4 cents
  • Interim cash dividend declaration of 15.0 cents per share to be paid on Monday, 20 June 2022.

Nampak Limited- Consolidated interim results for the six months ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue grew 24% to R8.1bn.
  • Operating profit grew 26% to R668m.
  • Profit for the period up 87% to R321m.
  • EPS up 105% to 34.9cps.
  • HEPS up 102% to 35.6cps.

Barloworld Limited

  • Barloworld will take the opportunity to buy back 10% of its shares after a significant decrease in their share price.
  • The company has also said that acquisitions are not a priority at the moment.

eMedia Holdings Limited- Consolidated results for the year ended 31 March 2022

  • Revenue increased 31.4% to R3 190 608 000.
  • Operating profit increased 200.9% to R538 318 000.
  • Profit for the year grew 289.8% to R420 830 000.
  • EPS grew by 292.25% to 63,96 cents.
  • A final dividend of 25 cents per share was declared and will be paid on Monday, 20 June 2022.

Old Mutual 

  • Old Mutual has received 2,200 claims from the KZN Floods. It has reinsurance coverage to assist with some of its losses, but it'll still lose R100m - R150m.

     

United States

Nvidia - Q1 Earnings

  • Nvidia released a great set of results on Wednesday, beating analyst expectations.
  • Revenue: $8.29 billion vs $8.12 billion expected by analysts.
  • EPS: $1.36 vs $1.30 expected by analysts.
  • Nvidia CEO had this to say We are gearing up for the largest wave of new products in our history with new GPU, CPU, DPU and robotics processors ramping in the second half.
  • The company also announced it has increased its share buy back program to $15 billion through December 2023.

JP Morgan

  • JPM have said that crypto has overtaken property as one of its preferred alternative assets.

Alibaba Earnings

  • Alibaba have today released an earnings update which has seen them crush analyst expectations.
  • Revenue: $32.19 billion vs analyst expectations of $29.94 billion.
  • EPS: $1.25 vs analyst expectations of $1.10
  • The company also said it reached $1,31 billion customers across the world!
