The Spar Group Limited- Results for the year ended 30 September 2022 and cash dividend declaration

  • Sale of merchandise grew 6% to R135 609.1 million.
  • Operating profit grew 1.1% to R3 428.7 million.
  • EPS fell 4.9% to 1 118.2 cents per share.
  • The company declared a gross final cash dividend of 225.0 cents per share which will be paid on Monday, 12 December 2022.

Woolworths Holdings Limited- Trading statement for 26 weeks ending 25 December 2022

  • Turnover and concession sales grew 23.3%.
  • Brick-and-mortar sales in Australia grew substantially and contributed 10.1% to the Groups total turnover and concession sales.
  • The company expects the EPS for the 26 weeks ended 25 December to be more than 20% higher than the EPS reported in the prior period.

Mediclinic International plc- Half-year results for the six months ended 30 September 2022

  • Group revenue increased by 10% compared with 1H22.
  • Group adjusted EBITDA decreased by 1% compared with 1H22.
  • Adjusted earnings per share decreased by 15% compared with 1H22.

Tiger Brands Limited- Trading statement

  • EPS from total operations for the year ended 30 September 2022 is expected to be between 52% and 57% higher.

Argent Industrial Limited- Results and Dividend Declaration for the 6 Months Ended 30 September 2022

  • Revenue grew 13.5% to R1 203 401 000.
  • EBITDA grew 19.5% to R170 044 000.
  • Basic EPS grew 28.2% to 182.7 cents per share.
  • The directors of the company have declared and approved an interim gross dividend of 45 cents per share which will be paid on Monday, 23 January 2023.

  • Meta has said that the head of WhatsApp has resigned.

  • Nike have increased their quarterly cash dividend to $0.340 per share from $0.305 per share.

Walmart

  • Walmart has agreed to pay $3.1 billion to settle opioid-crisis lawsuits brought by several U.S. states and municipalities.

Sea Limited

  • Sea Limited has fired more than 7,000 employees or around 10% of its workforce over the last 6 months.

Target earnings

  • EPS if $1.54 missing expectations of $2.13.
  • Revenue of $26.52B beating expectations of $26.38B.

Airbnb

  • Airbnb now has more than 4 million hosts on its platform.
